I know I’ve been quiet lately, but I’ve been working, re-adjusting and constantly finding my way back to ART. I can’t wait to tell you more, but for now, know that my mind always comes back to my baby, ART Undone.
So, let’s talk about what happens when you start doing everything you said you would. I feel like a lot of people talk about starting a new journey to a goal, but not the constant battle that goes on in your head to continue that journey.
I’ve been on one of my journeys for a little over 3 months. The most difficult thing is I find that I constantly deal with is the internal battle not to quit when I don’t see the results or outcomes I think I should. It’s also the constant doubt that I’m not doing enough. So many times we have these big dreams and ideas and when the results are so incremental, we tend to want to quit or give up. The thing that keeps me going is that if I give up, I’ll have to start all over again and that’s just not an option. So, I need a little pep talk and maybe this can help you as well (I heard I can be quite good at these).
So, hey (Insert Name here),
I heard you’ve been working on something that means a lot to you lately. I see you quietly pushing towards your goals and I’m proud of the consistency you’re displaying. I also see that you tend to be quite hard on yourself and I want to say that every step you take forward is a reason not to look back.
You’ve come a long way if you want to admit it or not, and that’s something to celebrate. Yes, you may see room for improvement, but that is a blessing. Do you know how many people don’t know where to begin so they never start? Well, you’ve broken that barrier. You have started on your journey and you’re pushing. You may be pushing slow right now or going full-force, either way, you’re moving.
You’re moving into something you’ve never seen before and that requires doing some things you’ve never done before. I know it’s hard to keep up the momentum. I know it’s hard to come back when you fall a couple of steps behind, but I need you to remember the reason you started this journey and go get what’s yours. You may be closer to a breakthrough than you know.
It doesn’t matter how fast you get there, as long as you keep on going. I have full faith that you can make it. I know that YOU believe you can make it, so don’t give up on yourself. Everything won’t always result in your preferable outcome, but if you know you’ve given your all, that’s a success in itself. Use that success to try again and find the strength to carry on. Turn any negative experiences into positive energy and once again, keep going.
Keep going because I know what you’re capable of. Keep going because you know deep down, inside that you can do it. You can exceed your own expectations. You can succeed. You can and you will succeed. So, keep on fighting and I will be cheering you on the whole way.
